To obtain broad regulatory approval for a new analgesic agent in acute postoperative pain, US and European regulatory authorities require pivotal studies in both hard (bony) tissue pain and soft tissue pain. Bunionectomy is by far the most common hard tissue pivotal trial model, in spite of the fact that the model has limited relevance to clinicians prescribing pain drugs (pain from bunionectomy is not extreme or long-lasting, and is adequately treated by existing drugs). The authors outline the experimental characteristics that make bunionectomy an appealing study model for researchers despite its lack of clinical relevance compared to larger surgeries.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical benefit of NAT in high grade UTUC undergoing RNU.
Materials And Methods: The UTUC Collaborative Network (UCAN) identified patients who underwent RNU for high grade UTUC between 2000 and 2022.
Microphthalmia-associated transcription factor family translocation renal cell carcinoma (MiT-tRCC) stands out as a rare subtype of kidney cancer with distinct biological features compared to other kidney cancer subtypes. It encompasses TFE3-rearranged RCC (also known as Xp11 translocation RCC) and TFE-rearranged translocations RCC, although multiple new fusion partners were identified. Traditionally thought to primarily affect children and young adults, more cases of MiT-tRCC are being identified in adults.

Materials And Methods: Data from 17 institutions were collected, comprising 305 men who underwent primary RPLND for CS 2 NSGCT. Regression analyses were conducted to predict histology in the RPLND specimen and disease-free survival (DFS).
