Microtubule nucleation is important for microtubule organization in dendrites and for neuronal injury responses. The core nucleation protein, γTubulin (γTub), is localized to dendrite branch points in Drosophila sensory neurons by Wnt receptors and scaffolding proteins on endosomes. However, whether Wnt ligands are important is unknown.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the relationship between Bispectral Index (BIS) and age-adjusted Minimum Alveolar Concentration (aaMAC) during anesthesia maintenance in adults.
  • Factors such as age, ASA status, and specific anesthetic agents were found to influence BIS readings, indicating that older patients and those given certain drugs showed higher BIS at the same aaMAC.
  • A generalized estimation equation was developed to predict either BIS or aaMAC based on known values, despite significant variances in their relationship.

Article Synopsis
  • Vulval cancers are rare, constituting only 0.25% of global cancer cases, and the COVID-19 pandemic worsened the situation by complicating proper investigations and treatment follow-ups.
  • During the pandemic, 20 non-metastatic carcinoma vulva patients underwent individualized surgeries, with follow-ups conducted every two months, adapting procedures to COVID-related challenges.
  • Results showed 85% disease-free survival at 18 months, comparable to pre-pandemic outcomes, suggesting that cancer surgery and care can be effectively managed even during significant health crises.

Despite widespread research on PFAS, less is known in developing countries like India. PFAS levels in sediment core samples from the Cooum River of Chennai City (India) in 2014 and 2016 were estimated to evaluate the effect of the major flood event in 2015. Among 22 target PFAS in this study, 11 and 12 of them were detected in the 2014 and 2016 samples, respectively.
