Background: (Cardamom) and (Fennel) are well-known spices and are also used as natural mouth fresheners. This study was performed to evaluate their neuroprotective ability based on certain acellular and cellular assays.

Methods: Hexane and ethyl acetate extracts were prepared using cardamom and fennel seeds.

Machine Learning-Guided Fluid Resuscitation for Acute Pancreatitis Improves Outcomes.

Objectives: Ariel Dynamic Acute Pancreatitis Tracker (ADAPT) is an artificial intelligence tool using mathematical algorithms to predict severity and manage fluid resuscitation needs based on the physiologic parameters of individual patients. Our aim was to assess whether adherence to ADAPT fluid recommendations versus standard management impacted clinical outcomes in a large prospective cohort.

Method: We analyzed patients consecutively admitted to the Los Angeles General Medical Center between June 2015 to November 2022 whose course was richly characterized by capturing more than 100 clinical variables.

Chondromyxoid fibroma of distal phalanx of great toe: a rare case report with literature review.

Chondromyxoid fibroma (CMF) in the foot is a rare condition. We report a case of CMF in a 7-year-old girl, affecting the distal phalanx of the great toe. Radiographs revealed a lytic lesion involving the entire distal phalanx, with destruction of both the medial and lateral cortices, while the articular surfaces remained intact.

Systematic characterization of faecal sludge from various sources for its use as a solid fuel.

Faecal sludge (FS) is not extensively evaluated for its potential as a solid fuel mainly due to the general conception of its "highly variable characteristics" in relation to the wide range of on-site sanitation systems. An extensive and systematic FS characterization was therefore conducted on twenty-four samples collected directly from pit latrines, ventilated improved pit latrines (VIPs) and urine-diverting dehydrating toilets (UDDTs) at two depths to understand the impact on properties relevant for combustion. The higher heating value (HHV) for these samples lies between 13 to 22 MJ/kg DM (dry matter).

Surgical site infection following incisional negative pressure wound therapy in lower limb amputation closure: A randomized controlled trial.
