[Experience in treating patients with lymphedema using radon baths combined with local barotherapy at Belokurikha health resort].

The efficacy of thermal nitrogen-radon water and local pneumocompression was studied in 66 patients with lymphedema of the lower limbs stage I-II receiving treatment in Belokurikha resort. The response of 10-48-month duration was achieved in 63 (95.5%) of those treated.

[Experience in using hyperthermia in combination with the radon pool in the combined treatment of patients with arteriosclerosis obliterans at the Belokurikha health resort].

The patients with atherosclerosis obliterans of the peripheral arteries received sanatorium treatment at Belokurikha health resort. The treatment (thermoradonotherapy) involved hyperthermia in sauna combined with radon pool. The above combination turned out superior to conventional radonotherapy provided the procedures were well tolerated and no balneoreactions arose.

Female telephone operators working with displays perform monotonous operations which cause marked hypodynamia. A study was performed to investigate the labour conditions, which revealed respiratory diseases as the main cause of morbidity with temporary disability. Extensive medical examinations also showed the prevalence of gynaecological disorders resulting from the working posture and hypodynamia.
