Systematic review and meta-analysis of interventions to improve outcomes for parents or carers of children with anxiety and/or depression.

Question: Depression and anxiety are common among children and young people and can impact on the well-being of their parents/carers. Dominant intervention approaches include parent training; however, this approach does not directly address parents' well-being. Our objective was to examine the effect of interventions, with at least a component to directly address the parents' own well-being, on parents' well-being outcomes, including stress, depression and anxiety.

On the trail of a critically endangered fungus: A world-first application of wildlife detection dogs to fungal conservation.

Plant and animal conservation have benefited from the assistance of wildlife detection dogs (WDDs) since 1890, but their application to fungal conservation has not been trialed. In a world-first, we tested the effectiveness of WDDs and human surveyors when searching for experimentally outplanted fungi in natural habitat. We focused on a critically endangered fungus from Australia, and showed that a WDD outperformed a human surveyor: our WDD detected a greater proportion of targets, had a faster time to first discovery, and had fewer false negatives.

Explosive and Harmful Impulses: A Subset of Child and Adolescent-to-Parent Violence and Abuse.

"Filial harm" refers to harms experienced by a parent and caused by their child, with increasing umbrella terminology developing to capture all forms of harm despite differing experiences and contexts. In this paper, based on a Glaserian Grounded Theory study underpinned by participatory research principles, this work utilized diaries and interactive interviews with 34 parents and arts-based workshops with 21 children to develop a new terminology and approach to child and adolescent-to-parent violence and abuse when harm does not have a clear intent. Explosive and harmful impulses refer to preadolescents experiencing proactive, reactive, affective, and relational harms and needs.

Rupture, repair, the loss and re-construction of identity: Seeking support in situations of adolescent-to-parent violence and abuse.

Family violence is associated with life-long implications including increased vulnerability to poor mental and physical health, and increased risk of repeat victimization. When children or adolescents are the ones instigating the harm, mothers experience the compounding issues of violence, mother-blame, and stigma. In comparison to other forms of family violence, how mothers understand and interpret their experiences of adolescent-to-parent violence and abuse (APVA) is underexplored, particularly in relation to what it means for them at the emotional and individual level, and how this impacts their sense of self, and their mothering and professional identities.

"My [Search Strategies] Keep Missing You": A Scoping Review to Map Child-to-Parent Violence in Childhood Aggression Literature.

Unlabelled: Child-to-parent violence is often referred to as one of the most 'under-researched' forms of family violence. However, it is closely associated with one of the most widely researched areas of research globally: childhood aggression. How child-instigated aggression can harm parents is widely referred to, but different framings, definitions, and conceptualisations are used which creates problems when attempting to identify the broader literature which may be relevant to child-to-parent violence researchers.
