Industrial dye degradation involves several processes by which dyes are broken down, ideally into innocuous products. Methylene blue (MB) is one of the most commonly employed dyes in the textile industry and is released into water in routine industry processes. These discharges lead to creating a nocuous nature for humans and animals.

Background: This study is part of a multicountry matched-cohort study designed to estimate the risk of long-term neurodevelopmental impairment (NDI) of children exposed to invasive group B Streptococcus (iGBS). The specific objective of this paper is to compare NDI across domains of iGBS survivors with a matched non iGBS group in our population.

Methods: Survivors of iGBS in a South Indian hospital were identified and recruited between January 2020 and April 2021.

Two simple, selective, and rapid spectrophotometric methods are described for the determination of mycophenolate mofetil (MPM) in pure form and in tablets. Both methods are based on charge-transfer complexation reaction of MPM with p-chloranilic acid (p-CA) or 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyano-1,4-benzoquinone (DDQ) in dioxane-acetonitrile medium resulting in coloured product measurable at 520 nm (p-CA) or 580 nm (DDQ). Beer's law is obeyed over the concentration ranges of 40-400 and 12-120 μg mL(-1) MPM for p-CA and DDQ, respectively, with correlation coefficients (r) of 0.

Two cerimetric procedures are described for the assay of oxcarbazepine (OXC) in bulk drug and in tablets. Titrimetry (method A) is based on the reaction of OXC by a measured excess cerium(IV) sulphate in sulphuric acid medium and the determination of the unreacted oxidant by titration with iron(II) solution using ferroin as indicator. Spectrophotometry (method B) is based on oxidation of OXC by cerium(IV) in perchloric acid (HClO4) medium and the determination of the unreacted oxidant using a colour reaction with p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde (p-DMAB) having an absorption maximum of 460 nm.

Titrimetric and spectrophotometric methods are described for the determination of oxcarbazepine (OXC) in bulk drug and in tablets. The methods use N-bromosuccinimide (NBS) and bromopyrogallol red (BPR) as reagents. In titrimetry (method A), an acidified solution of OXC is titrated directly with NBS using methyl orange as indicator.
