Retrobulbar Infiltrative Lipoma in a Dog.

A 6-year-old castrated male mixed breed dog presented to the "Louisiana State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital &-anonymized for review" ophthalmology service with marked exophthalmos and lagophthalmos of the left eye and soft tissue swelling medial to the zygomatic arch. A computed tomography (CT) scan was performed, and it revealed a well-marginated, lobulated, homogenously fat density involving the retrobulbar space. Preliminary results of a fine-needle aspirate (FNA) and biopsy were not conclusive, and a modified transfrontal orbitotomy was performed to remove the mass.

High-Yield Large-Scale Suspended Graphene Membranes over Closed Cavities for Sensor Applications.

Suspended membranes of monatomic graphene exhibit great potential for applications in electronic and nanoelectromechanical devices. In this work, a "hot and dry" transfer process is demonstrated to address the fabrication and patterning challenges of large-area graphene membranes on top of closed, sealed cavities. Here, "hot" refers to the use of high temperature during transfer, promoting the adhesion.

Computed tomographic characteristics of anatomical variations of external and internal jugular veins in dogs.

The external jugular vein (EJV) has been commonly used for clinical procedures in veterinary medicine, while the internal jugular vein (IJV) has been used mainly for research. Limited literature regarding anatomical variants in both EJV and IJV is available. The objectives of this descriptive retrospective study were to identify the number of dogs with variations of the jugular veins in canine patients undergoing CT of the head and neck and characterize these variations.

Background: Interventions aimed at upstream factors contributing to late-stage diagnoses could reduce disparities and improve breast cancer outcomes. This study examines the association between measures of housing stability and contemporary mortgage lending bias on breast cancer stage at diagnosis among older women in the United States.

Methods: We studied 67,588 women aged 66-90 from the SEER-Medicare linked database (2010-2015).
