Background: Effective diagnostic tools for prompt identification of high-risk locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC) patients are needed to facilitate early, individualized treatment. The aim of this work was to assess temporal changes in tumor radiomics (delta radiomics) from T2-weighted imaging (T2WI) during concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) in LACC patients, and their association with progression-free survival (PFS). Furthermore, to develop, validate, and compare delta- and pretreatment radiomic signatures for prognostic modeling.

Animals commonly form dominance relationships that determine the priority of access to resources and influence fitness. Dominance relationships based on age, immigration order or nepotism (alliances with kin) conventions are usually more stable than those based on intrinsic characteristics such as physical strength. Unlike most mammals, female gorillas disperse from their groups, typically more than once in their lifetimes, disrupting their group tenures and/or any alliances.

Anatomy learning has traditionally relied on drawings, plastic models, and cadaver dissections/prosections to help students understand the three-dimensional (3D) relationships within the human body. However, the landscape of anatomy education has been transformed with the introduction of digital media. In this light, the Open Anatomy Explorer (OPANEX) was developed.

Article Synopsis
  • Brazil has the highest diversity of Ergasilidae globally, with 76 species, but there is a need for more genetic research to uncover additional information.
  • The study involved morphological and molecular analyses of ergasilids found in the Pardo River, revealing two species that parasitized the nostrils of five fish species.
  • New molecular data were gathered to explore phylogenetic relationships among ergasilids, leading to the identification of five distinct clades, including one unique to Neotropical species, while suggesting the potential for host switching with introduced fish.
