Quality of life (QoL) is an important health outcome and represents the primary aim of all medical interventions. The term QoL has been is frequently used in medical and philosophical literature in recent decades and has become an important concept and goal of public health research. Traditionally, biomedical results rather than QoL were the basic endpoints in clinical and public health research.

The paper presents information on lambliasis and cryptosporidiosis outbreaks associated with drinking water contamination-associated. It discusses a risk for the emergence of mass outbreaks of lambliasis and cryptosporidiosis among the population of the municipalities of administrative district centers and other human settlements, which are to exercise sanitary and parasitological control over the quality of water of its centralized drinking supply. The significance of this water contamination by lamblia cysts and cryptosporidium oocysts is considered.

[Etiology and structure of infectious complications of cytostatic therapy in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and non-B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphomas].

A retrospective analysis of medical histories with acute lymphoblast leucosis and non-B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphomas made it possible to reveal infectious complications of cytostatic therapy in 100% of children, namely: sepsis (0.3%), unidentified infection (12%), local infection (87.7%).

[Immunoenzyme analysis and polymerase chain reaction in the diagnosis of an intrauterine infection in newborn infants with cerebral lesions].

The comparative evaluation of the diagnostic value of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and the enzyme immunoassay (EIA) in the detection of intrauterine infection (IUI) in 48 newborn infants with cerebral lesions was made. Tests for the presence of the infective agents of IUI, most frequently occurring in the region (Cytomegalovirus, Herpes simplex virus, Chlamydia trachomatis), were carried out. The levels of serum IgA, IgG and IgM were evaluated in the course of the primary screening of IUI.
