Low levels and function of natural killer (NK) cells are associated with increased coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) severity. NK cell immunotherapy may improve immune function to reduce infection severity. We conducted a first-in-human, open-label, phase 1, dose-escalating (100 × 10, 300 × 10, or 900 × 10 cells) study of a single dose of DVX201, a cord-blood-derived allogeneic NK cell therapy, in hospitalized patients with COVID-19.

The anti-tumor activity, immune activation, tropism, selectivity, and mechanism of action were evaluated in preparation for a first-in-human study. ICVB-1042 was at least 100-fold more cytotoxic in A549 cells than in normal primary cells tested, demonstrating its high tumor selectivity and a low likelihood of targeting primary tissues.

The dual specificity phosphatase 6 (DUSP6) has been implicated in the regulation of RTK signaling, but never in the context of arthritis and autoimmunity. We used the KRN serum-induced arthritis (KSIA) model of RA and showed that DUSP6 mice were protected and had a 50% lower maximum arthritis score ( = 0.

Near-continuous monitoring using autosamplers occurred just before, during, and after 5-7 sampling events triggered by rainfall and/or snowmelt. Microbial genetic material was noted at all four locations during all but one sampling event, but was exceedingly variable in time, where one sample would have no detections and the next sample could be a relatively high concentration.

Transposon silencing is especially critical in the germline, which is dedicated to transmitting inherited genetic material. The small Piwi-interacting RNAs (piRNAs) have a deeply conserved function in transposon silencing in the germline.
