Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the incidence, characteristics and in-hospital mortality of non-ventilator-associated hospital-acquired pneumonia (NV-HAP) in a regional (Modified Monash Model 2) Australian hospital.
Methods: All cases with NV-HAP were obtained from the Business Analysis and Decision Support (BADS) Unit between 1st January 2013 and 31st December 2018. Medical records were reviewed, and data pertaining to incidence, characteristics (age and gender), length of stay, co-morbidities (measured using the Charlson Comorbidity Index) and in-hospital mortality were extracted.
Background: Multi-family therapy (MFT-BN) is a new treatment for adolescent bulimia nervosa with emerging empirical support. It extends the bulimia nervosa focussed family therapy model, by offering treatment in a group setting. Up to nine families work together with a team of clinicians over the course of 20 weeks.

Methods And Results: Different levels of glucose (2·5, 50 and 115 g l ), fructose (2·5, 50 and 115 g l ) and pH (3·0, 3·5, 4·0 and 5·0) were evaluated for their effect on citE expression in four different lactic acid bacteria strains. Two Oenococcus oeni strains and two Lactobacillus plantarum strains were used, of which one strain of each species screened positive for the citE gene.
The combination of gradient HPLC, 2D chromatography, and MALDI-TOF MS facilitated the analysis of the various distributions of phthalic acid/propylene glycol-based model polyesters. Investigations of kinetic samples taken at various reaction times highlighted the subsequent differences at various stages of the polyesterification reaction in terms of molecular weight, chemical composition, and endgroups. Normal-phase gradient-HPLC analysis successfully enabled an oligomeric separation of the respective samples.
