We studied the features of the functioning of the hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid (HPT) axis under conditions of constant (4 weeks) lighting (LED lamps intended for office and residential premise) on a translational model of young adult and old female rhesus monkeys, in particular taking into account their behavior. Constant lightning had no significant effect on the levels of thyroid-stimulating hormone, thyroxine, and triiodothyronine under basal conditions in all animals, regardless of age and behavioral characteristics, but induced a decrease in thyroid function under conditions of its activation with thyrotropin-releasing hormone, mainly in old animals.

Individual features of age-related changes in the function of the neuroendocrine systems are an important problem as the basic component of a personalized approach to predicting and treating age-related pathologies. We studied the age-related features of the function of the hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid axis in laboratory primates with depression- and anxiety-like behavior (DAB). It was found that in young female rhesus monkeys with DAB, the basal and thyrotropin-releasing hormone-stimulated levels of thyroid-stimulating hormone were significantly lower than in young animals with standard behavior (control).

The main purpose of the epidemiological surveillance system for malaria in the Russian Federation is now to prevent the possible consequences of malaria-imported by Russians and foreigners from endemic areas. A quarter of the approximately 100 cases notified each year in the country are detected in Moscow. During an epidemic season, a package of measures to identify infection sources (malaria patients and parasite carriers) and to decline the number of malaria vectors is implemented and the sanitary state, of open water bodies and the efficiency of larvicidal measures are supervised.

Silver nanoparticles possess antibacterial effect for various bacteria; however mechanisms of the interaction between Ag-NPs and bacterial cells remain unclear. The aim of our study was to obtain direct evidence of Ag-NPs penetration into cells of Gram-negative bacterium S. typhimurium and Gram-positive bacterium S.
