[Clinical results of aphakia correction with bifocal intraocular lenses].

Aim: To evaluate the effect of symmetrical vs. asymmetrical and bilateral vs. unilateral implantation of M LENTIS LS-312 MF 30 multifocal intraocular lenses (IOLs) on visual functions and ergonomic parameters.

[Artisan iris-claw IOL implantation in cases of bilateral lens luxation into the vitreous body].

A clinical case of bilateral retropupillary implantation of iris-fixated lenses (Worst iris-claw intraocular lenses) in a patient with bilateral complete native lens dislocation into the vitreous body is presented. Despite native lens in the vitreous, the patient did not develop ocular hypertension in either eye after the surgery during a long-term follow-up period. Visual acuity significantly improved and there was no necessity in removing the dislocated lenses.

[The first experience of iris-fixated intraocular lens implantation in patients with open-angle glaucoma].

The results of iris-claw intraocular lens (IOL) implantation in patients with lens dislocation, deficiency of capsule support in combination with glaucoma are presented. Iris-claw "Artizan" IOL was used in 16 eyes. IOL was implanted through 5 mm corneal incision into the posterior chamber with haptic fixated to iris stroma.

[Up-to-date opportunities of IOL fixation in deficiency of lens capsule support].

Native and foreign literature concerning up-to-date techniques of surgical treatment of aphakia in deficiency of lens capsule support is reviewed Their main advantages and disadvantages are discussed.

[Blood cell aggregation and oxidative stress in pathogenesis of ischemic stroke].

Rheologic properties of blood cells and a state of oxidative-reductive processes and blood systems have been studied in 75 patients in acute period of ischemic stroke. The signs of oxidative stress development and simultaneous augmentation of blood cells aggregation were found. Shifts of redox-equilibrium in thiol-disulfide and ascorbate oxidative-reductive blood systems and cells aggregation dependence on their state were detected.
