The Added Value of SPECT/CT in Sentinel Lymph Nodes Mapping for Endometrial Carcinoma.

Objectives: This study was designed to evaluate the detection rate (DR) and sensitivity of sentinel lymph node (SLN) mapping in patients with endometrial cancer using TC99m colloid and blue dye and to evaluate the contribution of preoperative planar lymphoscintigraphy (PLSG) and SPECT/CT.

Methods: A retrospective analysis of patients who underwent SLN mapping as part of their primary surgery for endometrial cancer. Patients underwent preoperative PLSG and later with additional SPECT/CT.

Can malignant potential of endometrial polyps be determined by incorporating the endometrial intraepithelial neoplasia (EIN) classification?

Objective: The reported frequency of malignant or premalignant changes confined to endometrial polyps (EP) is 0.5-6%. The management of atypical endometrial hyperplasia (AEH) confined to EP is not yet established.

Pretreatment CA 15-3 levels do not predict disease-free survival in patients with advanced epithelial ovarian cancer.

Aims: To evaluate the role of pretreatment CA 15-3 levels as a predictor of disease-free survival in patients with advanced epithelial ovarian cancer.

Methods: A cohort of 65 patients with FIGO stage III or IV epithelial ovarian cancer was evaluated. Patients were treated either with primary cytoreductive surgery followed by adjuvant platinum-based chemotherapy or with neoadjuvant chemotherapy with interval debulking surgery.
