Background: Homologous Recombination Deficiency (HRD) is a pan-cancer predictive biomarker that identifies patients who benefit from therapy with PARP inhibitors (PARPi). It has a clinical and genetic overlap with other viable ciliopathies, especially Joubert syndrome and Joubert syndrome-related disorders. MKS is characterized by multicystic kidney dysplasia, central nervous system malformations (usually occipital encephalocele), ductal plate malformation of the liver, and postaxial polydactyly.

Prophylactic treatment of unruptured aneurysms is possible and recommended depending on the size and location of the aneurysm as well as patient age and condition.
