The effects of climate change on coastal biodiversity are a major concern because altered community compositions may change associated rates of ecosystem functioning and services. Whilst responses of single species or taxa have been studied extensively, it remains challenging to estimate responses to climate change across different levels of biological organisation. Studies that consider the effects of moderate realistic near-future levels of ocean warming and acidification are needed to identify and quantify the gradual responses of species to change.

Three-dimensional (3D) imaging of cleared intact brains of animal models and large human and non-human primate postmortem brain specimens is important for understanding the physiological neural network connectivity patterns and the pathological alterations underlying neuropsychiatric and neurological disorders. Light-sheet microscopy has emerged as a highly effective imaging modality for rapid high-resolution imaging of large cleared samples. However, the orthogonal arrangements of illumination and detection optics in light sheet microscopy limits the size of specimen that can be imaged.

Background: Meeting the physical activity (PA) guidelines for children, as set out by the World Health Organisation (WHO), has a range of physical and mental health benefits. For children who are blind or vision impaired (BVI), additional benefits include social inclusion and reduced falls risk. While previous research has demonstrated low PA levels across most demographics, little research has been done in the Irish context to quantify PA in children who are BVI.
