Neuropsychological impairments punctuate the early neurological involvement among HIV-1 infected patients. Three groups of patients, twenty in each were selected. The first group consisted of seronegative local controls, the second being a group of asymptomatic seropositive patients and the third a group of seropositive symptomatic individuals.

Psychotic symptoms during the course of HIV infection constitute a known complication. New-onset psychosis, diagnosed usually by exclusion of other psychoses, is characterized by distinct constellation of symptoms and a varied clinical course, and has been linked to putative neurotransmitter pathology in cortical neurones. A case of new-onset psychosis in AIDS is discussed and it's theoretical and practical importance highlighted.

In a Cross over design, the therapeutic value of thought-stopping technique in Obsessive Compulsive behaviour was examined by comparing its effect to that of progressive muscular relaxation. A group of 17 individuals with obsessive compulsive behaviours patterns served as study group. The measure of therapeutic change include frequency of obsession, Taylor's Manifest Anxiety scale, Beck's inventory for Depression.
