Effect of prior use of statins on endovascular thrombectomy outcomes in acute ischemic stroke.

Introduction: Acute large vessel occlusions (LVOs) account for up to one-third of acute ischemic strokes (AIS) and are associated with high mortality and severe functional deficits. Animal model research suggests that statins may have a protective effect on vessel wall injury during endovascular thrombectomy (EVT). We conducted a retrospective observational study to assess the impact of statin use on clinical outcomes post-EVT in AIS patients with LVOs.

To accelerate identification of disease resistant arecanut germplasm or hybrids against , it is very much imperative to develop bioassays which could differentiate resistant and susceptible cultivars efficiently. Here, a cost effective and rapid technique, called the "Detached Leaf Assay", was developed to identify resistant germplasm at the seedling stage itself. The current study proposes an empirical formula for absorption buildup factors as a function of target thickness. The present formula produces absorption buildup factors of compounds and mixtures with simple inputs of linear attenuation coefficient (μ), tenth value layer (TVL) and half value layer (HVL) of interacting target for the atomic number region 29 < Z < 92 for the energies 0.2 MeV < E < 1.

Context: Infertile women undergoing frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycles may not show optimal endometrial growth with estrogens alone.

Aim: To evaluate clinical effect of mild stimulation with letrozole and estrogens on endometrial growth in comparison to standard endometrial preparation with oral and topical estrogens in infertile women with unresponsive thin endometrium undergoing FET.
