Background: The Kasai portoenterostomy (KPE) aims to re-establish bile flow in biliary atresia (BA); however, BA remains the commonest indication for liver transplantation in pediatrics. Gut microbiota-host interplay is increasingly associated with outcomes in chronic liver disease. This study characterized fecal microbiota and fatty acid metabolites in BA.

However, the roles of bHLH proteins in thermotolerance are largely unknown. Herein, we identified a heat-inducible member of the bHLH family in lily (Lilium longiflorum), named LlbHLH87, which plays a role in thermotolerance.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the protective effect and mechanism of carvacrol hydrogel on the alveolar bone in rats with periodontitis.
Methods: A thermosensitive hydrogel supported by carvacrol was prepared using poloxamer and hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose as matrix. SD rats were randomly divided into blank group, periodontitis group, blank hydrogel group, and low-, medium-, and high-dose hydrogel groups.
