The objective of the research was to determine odontological (odontometric and odontoscopic) and morpho-aesthetic variations of the upper central and lateral incisors in 14-year-old children residing in Udmurt Republic. 200 adolescent respondents (100 boys and 100 girls) were included in the study. We accessed morphological aspects of the permanent upper right and left central incisors (URCI and ULCI) in 14-year-old children born and permanently residing in conditionally ecologically favorable districts of the Udmurt Republic.

To study the morpho-physiological changes of the nervous and endocrine regulatory systems following long-term influence of morphine hydrochloride, morphometric and correlation analysis of the structural components of the cerebral cortex, hypothalamus, adenohypophysis and thyroid gland was performed. The interrelation between the values of some parameters and the dose of morphine hydrochloride, that caused the tolerance to the drug, was shown. Dose-dependent effect was found in the degree of morphological remodeling of organ components that was demonstrated by the changes in cell and nuclear dimensions, staining properties of cytoplasm, ultrastructural components of thyrocytes, neurons and their processes, hormonal background, the number of the functioning blood capillaries.

Differences have been found between age-related shifts of DNA template activity of sympathetic neuron chromatin of normal and guanethidine-desympathized rats. The mean level of DNA template activity in mature neurons was the higher the heavier the desympathization of rat. In the ganglia of guanethidine-treated rats a subpopulation of neurocytes was revealed with an unusually high nucleolar-to-nucleoplasmic label ratio, never observed in control rats.

Cytological analysis of protein biosynthesis has been performed in sympathetic neurons of partially desympathized rats 1 and 6 months of age. Pronounced increase in the area of EPS-membranes, the amount of membrane-bound ribosomes, fragmentation coefficient of EPS cisterns, the amount of poly- and monoribosomes as well as heightened activity of protein biosynthesis might be related to its intensified function in desympathized rats. According to the data of autoradiographic analysis the increase in template activity of neuronal chromatin also occurs especially in the nucleolar area.

The modification of OTO-contrasting method (O-osmium, T-thiocarbohydrazide, O-osmium) allowing one to stain the structures of biological tissue in the process of its fixation is presented. The modification consists of an intermittent treatment of tissues with osmium tetroxide and thiocarbohydrazide after the tissue prefixation. This results in the formation of osmium-thiocarbohydrazide copolymer in form of "osmium black" and high tissue contrast corresponding to the true osmiophilia.
