Late presentation of gastric duplication cyst in pediatric patient: Lessons learned.

Gastrointestinal duplication is an infrequent congenital disorder characterized by the presence of a muscular layer covered by mucosa. Gastric duplication cysts account for approximately 2%-9% of all gastrointestinal duplication cysts. The typical clinical presentation often includes symptoms such as epigastric pain, vomiting, and the presence of a palpable abdominal mass.

Many approaches have been proposed for removing ECG noises, including ECG signal denoising using wavelet transform (WT).

Small bowel carcinoid tumor causing intestinal ischemia: A case report with review of the literature.

Intestinal carcinoid tumors are well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors that are capable of secreting bioactive hormones and/or amines; These tumors are uncommon but are the most common primary tumors of the small intestine. We report the case of an 80-year-old woman who presented with a long history (about 14 years ago) of atypical digestive symptoms such as vague abdominal pain, alternating diarrhea, and constipation, treated as functional colopathy without improvement, until the day when she presented with worsening pain that prompted her consultation. CT scan revealed typical manifestations of a carcinoid tumor associated with signs of subacute small bowel ischemia.

Primary hyperparathyroidism: Correlation between cervical ultrasound and MIBI scan.

Introduction: The standard gold treatment of primary hyperparathyroidism (PHP) is parathyroidectomy. Imaging in particular, cervical ultrasound (US) and technetium-99 m- méthoxyisobutylisonitrileparathyroid scintigraphy using the single-photon emission computed tomography (TC-99 m-MIBI-SPECT) are always indicated prior to parathyroid surgery, allowing the location of parathyroid adenomas. The objective of our study is to evaluate the contribution of TC-99 m-MIBI-SPECT and US in the preoperative topographic diagnosis of PHP.

Ultrasound-assisted one-pot green synthesis of new N- substituted-5-arylidene-thiazolidine-2,4-dione-isoxazoline derivatives using NaCl/Oxone/NaPO in aqueous media.

A rapid and green method for the synthesis of novel N-thiazolidine-2,4-dione isoxazoline derivatives 5 from N-allyl-5-arylidenethiazolidine-2,4-diones 3 as dipolarophiles with arylnitrile oxides via 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction. The corresponding N-allyl substituted dipolarophiles were prepared by one-pot method from thiazolidine-2,4-dione with aldehydes using Knoevenagel condensation followed by N-allylation of thiazolidine-2,4-dione in NaOH aqueous solution under sonication. In addition, the isoxazoline derivatives 5 were synthesized by regioselective and chemoselective 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition using inexpensive and mild NaCl/Oxone/NaPO as a Cl source, oxidant and/or catalyst under ultrasonic irradiation in EtOH/HO (v/v, 2:1) as green solvent.
