Purpose: To assess the possibility of anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT)-based preoperative evaluation of the lens in order to prevent and predict intraoperative complications of posterior subcapsular cataract (PSC) surgery.

Methods: This prospective study included 512 eyes diagnosed with PSC. AS-OCT was performed using Line, Cross Line and 3D Cornea scans to visualize the posterior capsule.

To study the mass transfer of metal compounds, a model of filtration combustion of metal-containing combustible mixtures is developed. Using cadmium-containing mixture as an example, the main characteristics of filtration combustion are determined when the gas pressure at the reactor inlet is constant. It is shown that under the conditions of a filtration combustion wave, a metal can evaporate into the gas phase and be transferred with gas through the reactor.

Higher activity of the NAD-dependent dehydrogenases of the tricarboxylic acid cycle (TAC) is observed in the optic retina, and of FAD-dependent dehydrogenases in the occipital lobes of the brain, in the visual analyzer of intact rats. The influence of stress using Desiderato's method induces a compensatory increase in the activity of succinate dehydrogenase. Acute stress induces a change in the regulation of the activity of the TAC dehydrogenases, assessed on the basis of the reaction to functional load.

In the visual analyzer of the intact animals higher activity of NAD-dependent dehydrogenases of tricarbonic acids cycle is observed in the retina and of FAD-dependent dehydrogenases in the occipital brain lobes. The influence of stress by Desiderato method elicits compensatory increase of the succinatedegidrogenase activity. The acute stress elicits a change of regulation of the activity of dehydrogenase of tricarbonic acids cycle, estimated by the reaction to functional load.

Administration of chloditan, an inhibitor of adrenal cortex function, at the terminal stage of the sensitive period of socialization of foxes reduced the cortisol concentration in blood as compared with control and intact animals aged 45 and 60 days. Simultaneously, the weakening of fear reaction and an enhancement of exploratory and motor activities in an unknown surrounding were observed. However, administration of chloditan did not affect the duration of the sensitive period of socialization, since the aggressive defensive reactions changed neither at the age of 45 and 60 days, nor at the age of 7 months.
