Addictive behaviour is characterised by a limited ability to control one's own behaviour. Background: Measures of systemic inflammation (MSIs) have been developed and shown to help predict prognosis in patients with lung cancer. However, studies investigating the impact of MSIs on outcomes solely in cohorts of patients undergoing curative-intent resection of NSCLC are lacking. In the era of individualized therapies, targeting inflammatory pathways could represent a novel addition to the armamentarium of lung cancer treatment.

The COVID-19 crisis had severe social and economic impact on the life of most citizens around the globe. Individuals living in single-parent households were particularly at risk, revealing detrimental labour market outcomes and assessments of future perspectives marked by worries. As it has not been investigated yet, in this paper we study, how their perception about the future and their outlook on how the pandemic will affect them is related to their objective economic resources.
