Tumefactive Demyelinating Lesions: An Illustrative Pediatric Case With an Atypical Presentation and Literature Review.

Tumefactive demyelinating lesions remain a rare entity and a source of diagnostic difficulty. Here, we report the case of a teenage girl who presented with a one-month history of progressive quadriparesis and symptoms of intracranial hypertension. Brain MRI showed multiple large subcortical white matter lesions with both open- and closed-rim enhancement on gadolinium injection.

Metronidazole-Induced Encephalopathy With Probable Crohn Encephalitis: A Case Report.

Objectives: Metronidazole central nervous system toxicity is a rare finding in patients receiving the medication. We report a peculiar case of metronidazole central nervous system toxicity in which both the underlying condition (Crohn disease) and the drugs used to treat it are potential causes of encephalopathy.

Encephalopathy in DM may occur for a number of reasons, such as cerebral vasculitis and hypoperfusion/hypertensive encephalopathy, but mostly as a consequence of immunosuppressant treatment.

Introduction: The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in a spark in interest in the subject given the high exposure rate to viral antigens in the form of infections and vaccines. It is expected that acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM) cases see a rise in incidence during this period. Given the plethora of Covid-19-related central nervous system (CNS) involvement, it is important to be aware of the varied presentations of ADEM.
