Micronized Palmitoylethanolamide-Polydatin Reduces the Painful Symptomatology in Patients with Interstitial Cystitis/Bladder Pain Syndrome.

Aims: To assess the efficacy of a micronized-palmitoylethanolamide-polydatin (m-PEA-Pol) based product on chronic pelvic pain and severity of other symptoms in interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS) patients refractory to conventional therapies.

Methods: A pilot, open-label bicentric study was carried out involving 32 IC/BPS patients. Chronic, oral m-PEA-Pol treatment lasted 6 months.

Objective: Men affected with Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH) and Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS) are demonstrating to require an increasing amount of attention from Urologists and Primary-care Physicians. Over the years, common urological medications were based on either alpha-blockers and/or 5alpha-reductase inhibitors. Morphological changes on the intestinal mucosa in orthotopic neobladder.

Introduction: The intestinal mucosa undergoes significant atrophic changes when it is used to reconstruct the urinary tract. We analyzed the ultrastructural changes of intestinal mucosa in the orthotopic neobladder on the basis of our clinical experience.

Patients And Methods: Fifteen male patients with an ileal neobladder underwent endoscopic biopsy at different postoperative intervals.

Prognostic role of tumour multifocality in renal cell carcinoma.

Unlabelled: What's known on the subject? and What does the study add? In RCC about 5% of the patients presented multifocal disease. Prevalence of tumour multifocality was associated with a higher percentage of symptomatic RCC, higher pathological TNM stages, higher tumour grade and higher prevalence of tumour necrosis. Although in univariable analysis multifocal tumours had lower probability of CSS, tumour multifocality did not retain an independent predictive role in multivariable analysis.

Porcine small intestinal submucosa implant in pubovaginal sling procedure on 48 consecutive patients: long-term results.

Objective: The long-term efficacy of pubovaginal sling (PVS) procedure with porcine small intestinal submucosa (SIS) implant was retrospectively assessed.

Study Design: Forty-eight patients with SUI underwent a pubovaginal sling with SIS. Patient evaluation included history, physical examination with stress test and prolapse assessment by Baden-Walker classification, routine laboratory tests, 24h-pad test, and multichannel urodynamic measurement.
