Etanercept inhibits binding of tumor necrosis factor to its receptor and is used in the treatment of inflammatory conditions. Perispinal subcutaneous injection followed by a supine, head down position may bypass the blood brain barrier.

Randomised trial of genetic testing and targeted intervention to prevent the development and progression of Paget's disease of bone.

Introduction: Paget's disease of bone (PDB) frequently presents at an advanced stage with irreversible skeletal damage. Clinical outcomes might be improved by earlier diagnosis and prophylactic treatment.

Methods: We randomised 222 individuals at increased risk of PDB because of pathogenic variants to receive 5 mg zoledronic acid (ZA) or placebo.

Evaluation of Proximal Femoral Bone Mineral Density in Cementless Total Hip Arthroplasty: A 3-Arm Prospective Randomized Controlled Trial.

Background: Femoral stem design affects periprosthetic bone mineral density (BMD), which may impact long-term survival of cementless implants in total hip arthroplasty (THA). The aim of this study was to examine proximal femoral BMD in 3 morphologically different uncemented femoral stem designs to investigate whether any particular design resulted in better preservation of BMD.

Methods: A total of 119 patients were randomized to receive a proximally coated collarless dual-taper wedge stem, a proximally coated collarless anatomic stem, or a fully coated collarless triple-taper stem.

The Second Wave of COVID-19: Clinical Pharmacy Services During a Field Hospital Operation.

The second wave of COVID-19 emerged in the late fall months in the state of Massachusetts and inadvertently caused a rise in the number of cases requiring hospitalization. With a field hospital previously opened in central Massachusetts during the Spring of 2020, the governor decided to reimplement the field hospital. Although operations were effectively accomplished during the first wave, the reimplementation of the field hospital came with its new set of challenges for operating a satellite pharmacy.
