Background: There is a discussion amongst oncologic societies regarding the necessity of preoperative biopsy prior to resection in lung cancer. We aim to examine outcomes of segmentectomy with or without preoperative biopsy in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted utilizing the National Cancer Database.
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a leading cause of death that is sexually dimorphic. This study used an ovine model to investigate whether maternal exposure to an environmental chemical (EC) mixture (biosolids) prior to and throughout pregnancy, affected offspring cardiovascular (CV) structure and function in adulthood. CV function of male and female offspring from ewes grazed on either conventionally fertilised (control, C) or biosolids-treated pasture (B) was assessed.

Methods: We utilized the National Cancer Database to conduct a retrospective analysis of patients with clinical T1-2, N0, M0 non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) without neoadjuvant treatment.

This paper presents parameter estimation for the passive moment and musculoskeletal scaling coefficients of a mathematical model describing the equations of motion of human finger segments. A novel musculoskeletal model was used as the actuator and parameter estimation was performed by least squares optimization of the differences between angular data from a motion capture system, and the solutions to the equations of motion of our model. The parameter estimates determined are unique to the individual and the dataset.
