Synthesis, Structure and Photophysical Properties of Dinuclear Zinc(II) Complexes with Schiff Base Bearing p-Phenylenediamine.

Four new dinuclear complexes Zn1-Zn4 were synthesized by the interaction of Zn(NO).4HO with Schiff bases containing p-phenylenediamine. The data of ESI-MS, IR and H NMR spectroscopy showed that the ligands coordinated with Zn(II) via two sets of O, N atoms.

Life-threatening massive hemoptysis due to pulmonary arteriovenous malformation: An uncommon case.

We present the case of a 42-year-old woman with no past medical history who was admitted to the emergency department because of massive hemoptysis estimated to be greater than 250ml of fresh blood. Physical examination revealed that her vital signs were initially fluctuating on admission with decreased arterial oxygen saturation, tachypnea, mildly elevated blood pressure and heart rate, and no fever. The head and neck exams were notable for the presence of blood in the oropharynx.

Structure of fungal community and culturable fungi on the discolored surfaces of pine storage boxes in the tropical region in Dong Nai, Vietnam.

Wood and wood-based materials are commonly used for storage, but their surfaces are prone to biodegradation by microorganisms, especially fungi. This study focuses on the microbial communities on pine wood storage boxes treated with an anti-termite and mold solution in a tropical region in Dong Nai, Vietnam. We isolated 13 fungal strains from these surfaces and classified them into six genera: Rhizopus, Aspergillus, Fusarium, Curvularia, Penicillium, and Trichoderma.

Proton response and neutron spectrum unfolding by solution-grown trans-stilbene scintillator.

This paper reports the proton response function for solution-grown trans-stilbene scintillator from 1 to 25 MeVee and its application for unfolding neutron spectra of Cf-252 and AmBe sources. Low energy proton response was measured by the Time-of-Flight technique at the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science. In contrast, high energy response was investigated using a 45 MeV proton beam at the Korea Institute of Radiological & Medical Sciences.
