Selective in vivo immune cell manipulation offers a promising strategy for cancer vaccines. In this context, spatiotemporal control over recruitment of specific cells, and their direct exposure to appropriate immunoadjuvants and antigens are key to effective cancer vaccines. We present an implantable 3D-printed cancer vaccine platform called the 'NanoLymph' that enables spatiotemporally-controlled recruitment and manipulation of immune cells in a subcutaneous site.

Background: Despite increasing availability of rapid molecular tests for the diagnosis of tuberculosis in high-burden settings, many people with tuberculosis are undiagnosed. Reliance on sputum as the primary specimen for tuberculosis diagnostics contributes to this diagnostic gap. We evaluated the diagnostic accuracy and additive yield of a novel stool quantitative PCR (qPCR) assay for the diagnosis of tuberculosis in three countries in Africa with high tuberculosis burdens.

Aim: This study aims to investigate the ability of fibrinogen and rotational thromboelastometry (ROTEM) parameters measured at obstetric hemorrhage protocol initiation to predict severe hemorrhage.

Methods: In this retrospective study we included patients whose hemorrhage was managed with an obstetric massive transfusion protocol. Fibrinogen and ROTEM parameters EXTEM clotting time (CT), clot formation time (CFT), alpha angle, A10, A20, lysis index 30 min after CT (LI30), FIBTEM A10, A20, were measured at initiation of the protocol with transfusion based on a predefined algorithm.

The global burden of latent TB infection (LTBI) and the progression of LTBI to active TB disease are important drivers of ongoing TB incidence. Addressing LTBI through screening and TB preventive treatment (TPT) is critical in order to end the TB epidemic by 2035. Given the limited resources available to health ministries around the world in the fight against TB, we must consider economic evidence for LTBI screening and treatment strategies to ensure that limited resources are used to achieve the biggest health impact.

Objectives: Interferon Regulatory Factors (IRFs) regulate transcription of type-I interferons (IFNs) and IFN-stimulated genes. We previously reported that IFN-regulatory factor 7 (IRF7) is significantly upregulated in the brain of HIV-1 transgenic (HIV-1Tg) rats compared to F344 control rats in a region dependent manner [Li MD, Cao J, Wang S, Wang J, Sarkar S, Vigorito M, et al. Transcriptome sequencing of gene expression in the brain of the HIV-1 transgenic rat.
