The intention of this study was to profile the cohort from the Greek Registry for the prevalence of Familial Hypercholesterolemia (GRegistry-FH) by estimating the prevalence of coronary artery disease (CAD), myocardial infarction (MI), stroke, dyslipidemia, arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus (DM), pre-DM, smoking, abnormal thyroid function (ATF), and lipid values. The GRegistry-FH is a prospective study involving door-to-door interviews conducted by trained interviewers. Overall, 7704 individuals aged ≥18 years, randomly selected from all the regions of Greece, participated.

We performed an umbrella review to investigate whether different dietary patterns affect CV risk in individuals with at least one cardiometabolic risk factor (hypertension, dyslipidemia, obesity, diabetes, metabolic syndrome) but not established CVD.
Methods: We systematically searched the PubMed and Scopus databases (up to August 2024) for the systematic reviews and meta-analyses of randomized controlled trials (RCTs).
Background: Dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors provide potent antidiabetic effects in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), but their role in the presence of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is not well-known.
Objective: The aim of this clinical trial was to evaluate the effects of sitagliptin on the metabolic profile and liver test results in metformin-treated patients with T2DM and NAFLD.
Methods: This was a prospective, 12-week, single-center, comparative randomized clinical trial enrolling 66 adult patients with T2DM and NAFLD (diagnosed by ultrasound).
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) represents a major risk factor for peripheral artery disease (PAD). We aimed to evaluate the impact of T2DM on lesion localization and complexity, clinical presentation by Rutherford categories, and limb outcomes in elderly patients with symptomatic PAD undergoing endovascular revascularization. Five hundred consecutive patients with symptomatic infra-inguinal PAD who underwent rotational atherectomy-assisted endovascular revascularization were included.
