Radioactive iodine, a key waste product of nuclear energy, has been a significant concern among nuclear materials because of its high volatility and its ability to easily enter the human metabolism. Porous materials containing a large number of N-heterocyclic units such as carbazole in the skeletons use as effective adsorbents showing high iodine capture capacities. Herein, a new carbazole-bismaleimide-based hyper-cross-linked porous organic polymer (CzBMI-POP) was successfully prepared from a new tetra-armed carbazole-maleimide monomer (Bis-Cz(BMI)), which contains biscarbazole units and maleimide side groups.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: The endotracheal tube (ETT) contains a cuff that is placed in the trachea to prevent gas leakage and aspiration of secretions and gastric contents. However, patient positioning after intubation may cause ETT displacement and changes in cuff pressure.
Objectives: Evaluate the effect of different patient positions on ETT cuff pressure in patients undergoing urological procedures in supine, prone, lateral flank, and lithotomy positions.
Objective/aim: The aim was to compare the levels of physical activity, kinesiophobia, pain catastrophizing, body awareness, and depression in patients with Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) and Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and to explore the associations between these outcomes and disease activity.
Methods: Seventy-eight patients with AS (n = 30) and RA (n = 48) were included. Outcomes were assessed using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form, the Tampa Scale of Kinesiophobia, the Pain Catastrophizing Scale, the Body Awareness Questionnaire, and the Beck Depression Inventory.
Objective: The BETY-Biopsychosocial Questionnaire (BETY-BQ) is a scale developed to assess the biopsychosocial domains of patients with rheumatic diseases under a single roof. The study aimed to determine the validity and reliability of the BETY-BQ in patients with primary Sjögren's Syndrome (pSS).
Methods: At enrollment and one week, 91 patients with pSS completed the BETY-BQ.
