Aggressive solid tumors are associated with rapid growth, early hypoxia, a lack of targeted therapies, and a poor prognosis. The hypoxic niches within the rapidly growing solid tumors give rise to a stem-cell-like phenotype with higher metastasis and drug resistance. To overcome the drug resistance of these regions, we used hypoxia-responsive polymersomes with an encapsulated anticancer drug (doxorubicin, Dox) and a stemness modulator (all-trans retinoic acid, ATRA).

Aim: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of a triple fixed-dose combination (FDC) therapy of dapagliflozin + glimepiride + metformin hydrochloride extended-release (DAPA + GLIM + MET ER) tablets in Indian patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) inadequately controlled by combination of GLIM + MET.

Materials And Methods: A phase III, randomized, open-label, active-controlled study was conducted for a maximum 30 weeks (primary treatment [16 weeks]; uptitration [12 weeks] and follow-up [2 weeks]). Eligible patients were randomized in a 1:1 ratio to receive either the FDC of DAPA + GLIM + MET ER or the FDC of GLIM + MET prolonged-release (PR) once-daily.

Introduction: Little is known about patients' perceptions of their risk for type-2 diabetes (T2D), or if knowledge of risk could facilitate weight and diabetes prevention discussions with health care professionals.

Methods: In our academic family medicine practice, 25 patients completed a previsit T2D risk assessment on their phone and answered interview and survey questions to assess their understanding of their risk for developing T2D.

Results: Interest in their T2D risk was high, but self-estimation of risk before obtaining their score was low (21/25 reported ≤30% chance of developing diabetes).

Article Synopsis
  • T cell therapies, like CAR and TCR T cells, are emerging cancer treatments, but improving their effectiveness requires understanding their behavior in populations.
  • The authors developed advanced tools using live-cell imaging to track and analyze modified T cells interacting with tumor cells, focusing on their morphology, movement, and interactions.
  • They found that specific genetic modifications in TCR T cells led to longer interaction times and better activation against cancer cells, while other modifications increased T cell growth, paving the way for more effective cancer therapies.

Purpose: The (Dobbs) Supreme Court decision revoked the constitutional right to abortion. Now, restrictive state abortion laws may contribute to the shortage and strain already felt in primary care practice, especially related to the provision of reproductive health care. The purpose of this study is to evaluate perceived impacts of state abortion legislation on family medicine clinicians' practice and medical education regarding reproductive health care.
