Background: The effect of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) on pain and impression of change was assessed during a 2.5-hour intervention on the first postoperative days following hip surgery in a randomized, single-blinded, placebo-controlled trial involving 30 patients.
Methods: Mixed-frequency TENS (2 Hz/80 Hz) was administered using specially designed pants integrating modular textile electrodes to facilitate stimulation both at rest and during activity.
Background: Impaired glymphatic clearance of cerebral metabolic products and fluids contribute to traumatic and ischemic brain edema and neurodegeneration in preclinical models. Glymphatic perivascular cerebrospinal fluid flow varies between anesthetics possibly due to changes in vasomotor tone and thereby in the dynamics of the periarterial cerebrospinal fluid (CSF)-containing space. To better understand the influence of anesthetics and carbon dioxide levels on CSF dynamics, this study examined the effect of periarterial size modulation on CSF distribution by changing blood carbon dioxide levels and anesthetic regimens with opposing vasomotor influences: vasoconstrictive ketamine-dexmedetomidine (K/DEX) and vasodilatory isoflurane.

Our objectives were to describe mpox case patients who worked while infectious and the subsequent workplace contact tracing efforts, risk assessments, and outcomes.
Methods: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention requested information from health departments in the United States in September 2022 to identify people with confirmed or probable mpox who worked outside the home while infectious, either before or after diagnosis, from June 1 through August 31, 2022.
To design complex wearable haptic interfaces using pressure, we have to explore how we can use pressure stimuli to their full potential. Haptic illusions, such as apparent motion and apparent location, can be a part of this. If these illusions can be evoked with pressure, haptic patterns can increase in complexity without increasing the number of actuators or combining different types of actuators.
