Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate serum cystatin C as a potential biomarker for diabetic retinopathy (DR) in a rural Indian population, addressing the urgent need for effective screening tools amidst rising diabetes prevalence.
Materials And Methods: A cross-sectional study recruited 112 patients with diabetes mellitus from Sambalpur, Odisha, India, categorized into groups with and without DR. Serum cystatin C levels were measured alongside clinical and demographic parameters, using established diagnostic methods.
Postpartum care, including contraception, benefits maternal health and decreases mortality, which increased in the United States with COVID-19. Pandemic disruptions to postpartum health care access in vulnerable populations are not well understood. We utilize electronic health record (EHR) data for prenatal patients ( = 2,265) at six urban Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) from one year prepandemic (January 1, 2019) through one year after the first stay-at-home orders ("lockdown") (March 31, 2021).

However, it is uncertain whether users would be willing to wear these sensor garments long term.
Objective: Our objective was to explore whether users would wear ordinary looking knitted garments with unobtrusive knitted-in breathing sensors long term to monitor their lung health and under what conditions.
Methyl orange (MO) and methylene blue (MB) dyes are toxic and carcinogenic; thus, their presence in water bodies has been a major concern. Designing an efficient adsorbent for removal of these dyes is a scientific challenge for researchers. In this work, a polypyrrole-tannic acid nanocomposite was prepared via a chemical oxidation method and used as a novel adsorbent for removing these toxic dyes.
