Pulmonary varices are rare disorders (only 72 published cases), and are most often congenital in origin, asymptomatic and have a benign outcome. In some cases the appearance of varices is favoured by pulmonary venous hypertension which is most often related to mitral valve disease, or it is associated with other vascular or bronchial malformations. We present a new case of isolated pulmonary varices occurring in an asymptomatic young woman aged 20.

The authors report on a case of a emphysematous pyelonephritis due to Klebsiella pneumoniae, occurring in a diabetic patient and successfully treated by nephrectomy. They compare it to the literature.

We report a case of renal macroangiopathy occurring after transplantation in a 50-year-old woman who received a cadaveric kidney and who was immunosuppressed with cyclosporin A. Accelerated hypertension at 3 months led to renal angiography which revealed diffuse narrowing of the two main renal arteries and their intrarenal branches. The patient returned to regular haemodialysis four months post-transplantation.

Cerebral transfontanelle ultrasonography has been making many progress for ten years, with the grey scale of new echographs. We report here our experience. The technique is now standardized: we use a high resolution realtime scanner with a 5 MHz transducer placed directly over the fontanella.
