Aims: To compare a low-dosing protocol to standard practice for methadone-buprenorphine transfers.

Methods: We undertook a nonrandomized open-label clinical trial across 8 sites from NSW, Australia. Participants prescribed methadone wishing to transfer to buprenorphine could either choose or be randomized to a low-dose transfer or standard care transfer as per NSW health guidelines.

Despite technological advances and readily available point of care test (POCT) devices with rapid turn-around results for respiratory tract infection (RTI) management, their adoption in primary care remains low. This paper summarises the challenges and facilitators of POCT implementation for RTIs in primary care settings in high-income countries. The review of 28 studies identified by systematic searches of electronic databases improves our understanding of the current state and will help guide the design and implementation of strategies to improve widespread POCT adoption.

Long-lived PFKFB3-expressing β-cells are dysfunctional partly because of prevailing glycolysis that compromises metabolic coupling of insulin secretion. Their accumulation in type 2 diabetes (T2D) appears to be related to the loss of apoptotic competency of cell fitness competition that maintains islet function by favoring constant selection of healthy "winner" cells. To investigate how PFKFB3 can disguise the competitive traits of dysfunctional "loser" β-cells, we analyzed the overlap between human β-cells with bona fide "loser signature" across diabetes pathologies using the HPAP scRNA-seq and spatial transcriptomics of PFKFB3-positive β-cells from nPOD T2D pancreata.

Objective: To evaluate the feasibility of developing a computer vision algorithm that uses preoperative computed tomography (CT) scans to predict superior mesenteric artery (SMA) margin status in patients undergoing Whipple for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), and to compare algorithm performance to that of expert abdominal radiologists and surgical oncologists.

Summary Background Data: Complete surgical resection is the only chance to achieve a cure for PDAC; however, current modalities to predict vascular invasion have limited accuracy.

Methods: Adult patients with PDAC who underwent Whipple and had preoperative contrast-enhanced CT scans were included (2010-2022).
