Mutations in the NRF2-KEAP1 pathway are common in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and confer broad-spectrum therapeutic resistance, leading to poor outcomes. Currently, there is no means to non-invasively identify NRF2 activation in living subjects. Here, we show that positron emission tomography imaging with the system x radiotracer, [F]FSPG, provides a sensitive and specific marker of NRF2 activation in orthotopic, patient-derived, and genetically engineered mouse models of NSCLC.

A novel Gram-stain-positive, black-pigmented bacterium, designated as WL48A , was isolated from the surface of badland sedimentary rock in the Red Desert of Wyoming and characterized using a polyphasic taxonomic approach. Good growth occurred at 28-32 °C, pH 7-9, and NaCl less than 1% (w/v). Colonies, growing well on International Streptomyces Project media (ISP) 3 and ISP 7, were black and adhering to the agar.

Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) has emerged as a promising tool for cognitive enhancement, especially within simulated virtual environments that provide realistic yet controlled methods for studying human behavior. This mini review synthesizes current research on the application of tDCS to improve performance in interactive driving and flight simulators. The existing literature indicates that tDCS can enhance acute performance for specific tasks, such as maintaining a safe distance from another car or executing a successful plane landing.

Misprocessing of amyloid precursor protein (APP) is one of the major causes of Alzheimer's disease. APP comprises a large extracellular region, a single transmembrane helix and a short cytoplasmic tail containing an NPxY motif (normally referred to as the YENPTY motif). Talins are synaptic scaffold proteins that connect the cytoskeletal machinery to the plasma membrane via binding NPxY motifs in the cytoplasmic tail of integrins.
