Malleable and Static Risk Factors Associated with Boys' Patterns of Interpersonal Violence: A Latent Class Analysis.

Despite an increased risk of committing and experiencing violence among adolescent boys, little is known about either how different types of violence co-occur within individuals or their association with different risk factors. This study used a person-centered approach to (1) identify patterns in boys' perpetration and victimization across a range of 7 types of interpersonal violence (bullying, electronic aggression, sexual harassment/aggression; and psychological/ physical/sexual dating violence); and (2) examine the association of these patterns with 12 risk factors at the individual, relational, and community level to inform future prevention efforts. We used latent class analysis to identify patterns of violence among a diverse sample of 239 adolescent boys from 12 schools in 4 regions of the United States.

Feasibility and acceptability of tailored sexual assault prevention in the US Air Force.

Background: Sexual assault prevention is a priority for the military and is likely to be most effective when tailored to specific needs and individual experiences. Technology advances make it possible to integrate individualized programming into group education settings common to military training, but this approach is not without potential challenges. Prior to implementing and evaluating a novel prevention program, it is critical to conduct a feasibility study to assess the extent to which the program can be successfully implemented, is acceptable to participants, and can be rigorously evaluated.

Tailored carbon dioxide capacity in carboxylate-based ionic liquids.

We have used a library of thermally stable tetraalkylphosphonium carboxylate ionic liquids that were easily prepared from available carboxylic acids. Depending on the p in water of the precursor acids, the resulting ionic liquids either dissolve or reversibly chemically absorb CO, with some exhibiting notable gas capacities, reaching a CO mole fraction of 0.2 at 1 bar and 343 K.

Alcohol's Role in Sexual Decision Making in First-Year College Women: An Event-Level Assessment.

Sexual decision making is often grounded in social scripts that can be detrimental to women's healthy relationship and sexual development during the transition to college. Little is known about the malleable decision-making processes and drinking behaviors that influence sexual behaviors from day-to-day. We examined whether women were more likely to engage in sexual behaviors on days they had higher intentions and willingness to engage in sex or drink alcohol.
