Background: Patients with Self-Reported Penicillin Allergy (SRPA) receive alternative antibiotics, which increase the length of stay and hospital costs, but the impact of SRPA on mortality in critically ill patients is not well described.
Methods: This was a single-center, retrospective analysis of routinely gathered clinical data for all intensive care unit (ICU) admissions over nine years. The primary outcome was 28-day mortality, which was analyzed using a time-to-event approach with multivariable models to adjust for confounding factors, including age, comorbidities, sex, and admission SOFA score (as a measure of organ dysfunction).
Objective: The purpose of this systematic review is to provide a detailed summary of the long-acting injectable antipsychotic medications approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) between 2008 to October 2024. We aim to provide an overview of the mechanism of action, indications for both labeled and off-label uses, evidence for efficacy, dosing, and the adverse effects of each drug.
Methods: Studies published from 2008 to October 1, 2024, were identified from the PubMed database, using the keywords: 'long-acting injectables' OR 'LAI*'AND 'psychopharm*" OR 'schizophrenia' The authors conducted a focused analysis independently and reached a consensus on the recently approved long-acting injectable antipsychotic medications to be included in this systematic review.
Transmission of Trypanosoma cruzi involves diverse hosts, vectors and parasitic genotypes, in different environments. In recent decades, the distribution of T. cruzi has altered due to urbanization of affected people and vectors.

However, its impact on circulating miRNA (c-miRNA) profiles remains unclear. This study aimed to determine the effects of low versus adequate carbohydrate availability on c-miRNA profiles during recovery from aerobic exercise.

Methods: Secondary analysis was performed on thirty-seven individuals with FAI syndrome who received biomechanical assessment before and 12-months following either arthroscopic surgery (n = 17) or physiotherapist-led care (Personalised Hip Therapy, PHT) (n = 20). At both time points, three-dimensional whole-body motions, ground reaction forces, and surface electromyograms (n = 14) were acquired during overground walking.
