Intestinal dysbacteriosis was found in all 37 patients with intestinal yersiniosis or pseudotuberculosis. Administration of biopreparations containing lacto- or bifidobacteria produced a good clinico-microbiological response rate (above 90%). The authors think it valid to include biopreparations in combined treatment of yersiniosis to prevent unfavourable outcomes.

A relatively high sensitivity and specificity of indirect enzyme immunoassay using the antibody obtained from the blood of patients with P. falciparum-induced malaria in the acute period have been demonstrated. The substrate for antigen isolation is available and can be easily obtained in sufficient quantities.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFSuppressive therapy with chloroquine and fansidar at standard doses does not prevent malaria at the time of a maximum level of infecting agent transmission but only weakens the expression of clinical manifestations. The main clinical signs are nonspecific symptoms of infectious intoxication. At the seasonal peak of tropical malaria incidence, doses of individual chemoprevention should be doubled as compared to the standard ones.
