Examined were 64 patients operated on for exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis. On the basis of the complex clinico-functional and laboratory investigation of a state of the health at the period of from 18 to 50 days after the operation with regard for clinical and labour prognosis, the criteria for determination of the duration of temporary invalidity have been established.

Examined were 164 patients 3-7 years after surgical intervention for chronic pancreatitis. The numerous diseases of the alimentary organs and complications leading to reduction and loss of working ability in a significant number of the patients operated on were revealed. Preservation of working ability in this population of patients largely depends on a degree of the use of a rehabilitative (medical, social and vocational) potential.
