Three-Dimensional Printing/Bioprinting and Cellular Therapies for Regenerative Medicine: Current Advances.

The application of three-dimensional (3D) printing/bioprinting technologies and cell therapies has garnered significant attention due to their potential in the field of regenerative medicine. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of 3D printing/bioprinting technology and cell therapies, highlighting their results in diverse medical applications, while also discussing the capabilities and limitations of their combined use. The synergistic combination of 3D printing and cellular therapies has been recognised as a promising and innovative approach, and it is expected that these technologies will progressively assume a crucial role in the treatment of various diseases and conditions in the foreseeable future.

Sex estimation in a Chilean population by mandibular analysis in cone beam computed tomography images.

Background: Sex estimation is the first stage in the identification of an individual in the forensic context, and can be carried out from bone structures like the mandible. The aim of this study was to estimate sex from metric analysis of the mandible in cone beam computed tomography images (CBCT) of adult Chilean individuals.

Methods: Six mandibular measurements were analysed, five linear and one angular, in CBCT of adult Chilean individuals of both sexes.

Anterior chamber morphological and refractive outcomes following phacoemulsification in pseudoexfoliative eyes: A case-control study.

Purpose: To compare changes in angle morphology, anterior chamber depth (ACD) and refractive prediction error (PE) after phacoemulsification between pseudoexfoliative (PEX) and non-PEX eyes.

Methods: Prospective case-control study of eyes submitted to cataract surgery. Biometric data and angle parameters - Anterior Chamber Angle (ACA), Angle Opening Distance (AOD), Scleral Spur Angles (SSA) and Trabecular Iris Space Area (TISA) - were measured preoperatively and 1-month postoperatively through swept-source anterior segment optical coherence tomography.

Multicentric Castleman's Disease presenting with bilateral panuveitis.

Purpose: To report a rare case of Multicentric Castleman's Disease presenting with bilateral panuveitis.

Methods: Case report.

Results: A 65-years-old caucasian man presented with progressive blurred vision in both eyes for two weeks, along with weight loss, polyarthralgias and reduced muscle strength persisting for about a year.

Early and Long-Term Adverse Outcomes of In Utero Zika Exposure.

Background: Zika virus (ZIKV) infection during pregnancy can lead to congenital Zika syndrome (CZS) and may result in neurodevelopmental alterations in exposed children, with and without CZS. This study aimed to evaluate ZIKV infection during pregnancy as a risk factor for early and long-term adverse outcomes.

Methods: This retrospective-prospective, matched cohort study was conducted in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil.
