[Induced acute non-lymphoblastic leukemia and prognostic significance of cytogenetic abnormalities: trisomy in chromosome 8, inv(16)(p13q22), and t(8;21)(q22;q22)].

3 patients with secondary acute non-lymphoblastic leucosis have been observed. The cytogenetic analysis revealed pathologic karyotypes: 46, XY,+8, t(8;21), inv 16. Two patients have been found with typical markers of damaged chromosome of radiation origion.

[P-glycoprotein expression in radiation-associated acute myeloid leukemia].

The article presents findings of the analysis on P-glycoprotein expression of leukemic cells in 52 acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients. Of these, there were 20 persons exposed to ionizing radiation due to the Chernobyl accident and 32 patients with spontaneous disease. Leukemic cells in patients with radiation-associated AML compared to spontaneous cases more often were P-glycoprotein positive (12/20 vs 9/32, P<0,05).

[Endogenous intoxication, immunological reactivity and erythrocyte membrane permeability in patients with chronic myelogenous leukemia].

Patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) have been shown to present with apparent metabolic abnormalities, such as enhanced endogenous intoxication against the background of deterioration of the functional condition of the liver and decline in immune reactivity of the organism; the erythrocytic membrane permeability changes considerably. The data secured are discussed from the standpoint of using them as prognostic criteria of the course of CML.

Changes were studied in processes of peroxide oxidation of lipid (LPO), such as neutral lipids and phospholipids, as related to the levels of hemoglobin (Hb) and its derivatives, methemoglobin (Met-Hb) and carboxyhemoglobin (CO-Hb) in erythrocytes and blood plasma of 33 patients with iron-deficiency anemia (IDA). [The use of Ukrainian laferon in the combined treatment of patients with chronic myeloid leukemia].

A study was made into the effect of laferon on effectiveness of treatment of patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). The authors have reached the conclusion that drug tolerance in the patients is fairly good. The number of negative reactions within a few days of the start of laferon therapy did not exceed the level reported from other countries.
