We investigated changes in generation of free radicals of oxygen including superoxide anion-radical (SAR) of oxygen by phagocytes and other cells of atherosclerotic plaques resected in operations of aortofemoral or aortoiliac bypass grafting and plastic vascular surgery of 38 patients with obliterating atherosclerosis obliterans of the lower extremities.
