[A comparison of two existing catalogues of the alleles of gliadin-coding loci in winter common wheat].

Two catalogs of alleles of gliadin-coding loci, controlling synthesis of a storage protein of wheat caryopsis, gliadin, were compared. One catalogue comprises the alleles detected according to the electrophoretic patterns in starch gels; the other, in polyacrylamide gels. Determination of the allelic state of gliadin-coding loci in 31 previously not studied cultivars of winter common wheat allowed us to construct a matching system for the alleles compiled in the two catalogs, which gives the possibility to compare the results of wheat cultivar analyses performed at different scientific institutions.

[Isolation of DNA fragments of the barley genome, supporting autonomous regulation of plasmids in Saccharomyces cerevisiae].

BamHI fragments of the barley genomic DNA were cloned in Escherichia coli cells on the vector plasmid YIp5 carrying the URA3 gene of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Yeast cells were transformed by individual plasmid DNA preparations from each clone selected. Approximately 10% of the studied plasmids are able to replicate in yeast cells.

[Genetic transfer of pAP38, pAP39, and pAP41 plasmids into E. coli, Erwinia, and Hafnia strains].

Genetic transfer factors pAP38, pAP39 and pAP41 can be transferred to E. coli, both typed and untypecd, as well as to Erwinia and Hafnia strains, with different frequency (10(-2) to 10(-8)). The transconjugates thus obtained possess donor activity and can transfer the factors they have received to recipient E.

[Immunobiologic study of the role of heterogenetic antigens of uropathogenic strains of E. coli].

Analysis of 140 strains of E. coli isolated from patients with pyelonephritis has demonstrated heterogeneous antigens (in 44.3% of cases) related to ABO antigens against human red blood cells.
