[Anesthesia in emergency surgery on the organs of the hepato-pancreato-duodenal area in elderly and aged patients].

One hundred and two male and female patients, aged 65-85 years, have been examined. All of them had been subjected to urgent surgery for acute surgical pathology of the organs of hepatopancreatoduodenal area. Surgery was performed under one of the following anesthesia techniques: neuroleptanalgesia, epidural anesthesia (EA), combination of EA and endotracheal anesthesia.

[The value of the indicators of oxygen balance in burn patients in the prognosis of the outcomes of burn disease].

In 85 patients with severe burns, the integral indices of oxygen balance were studied. Decrease in the index of oxygen flow, increase in the index of oxygen consumption, coefficient of oxygen extraction are prognostically unfavourable. Therapy at the acute period of burn disease should be directed at struggle against hypermetabolism.
