Intel's efforts to build a practical quantum computer are focused on developing a scalable spin-qubit platform leveraging industrial high-volume semiconductor manufacturing expertise and 300 mm fabrication infrastructure. Here, we provide an overview of the design, fabrication, and demonstration of a new customized quantum test chip, which contains 12-quantum-dot spin-qubit linear arrays, code named Tunnel Falls. These devices are fabricated using immersion and extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUV), along with other standard high-volume manufacturing (HVM) processes as well as production-level process control.

Objective: The Phoenix sepsis criteria define sepsis in children with suspected or confirmed infection who have ≥2 in the Phoenix Sepsis Score. The adoption of the Phoenix sepsis criteria eliminated the Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome criteria from the definition of pediatric sepsis. The objective of this study is to derive and validate machine learning models predicting in-hospital mortality for children with suspected or confirmed infection or who met the Phoenix sepsis criteria for sepsis and septic shock.

Introduction: There is inequity in the provision of physical rehabilitation services for people living with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The Kidney BEAM trial evaluated the clinical value and cost effectiveness of a physical activity digital health intervention (DHI) in CKD.

Methods: In a single-blind, 11 center, randomized controlled trial, 340 adult participants with CKD were randomly assigned to either the Kidney BEAM physical activity DHI or a waitlist control.

Deciphering the effect of evolutionary mutations of viruses and predicting future mutations is crucial for designing long-lasting and effective drugs. While understanding the impact of current mutations on protein drug targets is feasible, predicting future mutations due to natural evolution of viruses and environmental pressures remains challenging. Here, we leveraged existing mutation data during the evolution of the SARS-CoV-2 protein drug target main protease (M) to test the predictive power of dynamic residue network (DRN) analysis in identifying mutation cold and hot spots.

: Exercise and (poly)phenols may activate nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (NRF2), a transcription factor that coordinates antioxidant synthesis. The purpose of this study was to determine whether curcuminoid supplementation augments resting and exercise-induced NRF2 activity. : In a double-blinded, randomised, between-subjects design, 14 males and 12 females performed plyometric exercise (100 drop jumps, 50 squat jumps) following 4 d supplementation with a curcuminoid-based formulation (CUR + EX; = 13; ∼200 mg d curcuminoids) or a placebo (PLA + EX; = 13).
