Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a pediatric genetic disorder characterized by the loss of spinal cord motor neurons (MNs). Although the mechanisms underlying MN loss are not clear, current data suggest that glial cells contribute to disease pathology. We have previously found that SMA astrocytes drive microglial activation and MN loss potentially through the upregulation of NF-κB-mediated pro-inflammatory cytokines.

Survival motor neuron (SMN) protein deficiency results in loss of alpha motor neurons and subsequent muscle atrophy in patients with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). Reactive microglia have been reported in SMA mice and depleting microglia rescues the number of proprioceptive synapses, suggesting a role in SMA pathology. Here, we explore the contribution of lymphocytes on microglia reactivity in SMA mice and investigate how SMN deficiency alters the reactive profile of human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived microglia.

Regularities of changes in the content of (137)Cs in green fodder during the remote period after the CNPP accident depending on application of agro-technical and agrochemical activities are analyzed. It is revealed that the use of mineral fertilizers reduces receipt of (137)Cs from the soil to forage and further to a food chain. It is also established that agrochemical activities are more effective than agro-technical ones.

Aim: To determine clinical significance of PRAME gene expression in multiple myeloma (MM) and feasibility of its use as a marker of residual tumor clone.

Material And Methods: 35 MM patients, of them 15 were newly diagnosed and 20 had resistance to previous therapy. PRAME was made if the patients received programmed therapy with high-dose chemotherapy (VD) and autologous transplantation of peripheral cell stem cells.
