Pedestrians are vulnerable road users that are directly exposed to road traffic crashes with high odds of resulting in serious injuries and fatalities. Therefore, there is a critical need to identify the risk factors associated with injury severity in pedestrian crashes to promote safe and friendly walking environments for pedestrians. This study investigates the risk factors related to pedestrian, crash, and built environment characteristics that contribute to different injury severity levels in pedestrian crashes in Santiago, Chile from a spatial and statistical perspective.

Werfft, Vienna, Austria) in a 14-day interval increases β-carotene concentrations in blood, particularly around the time of the first artificial insemination (AI), and to test the effect of the treatment on fertility parameters, luteal size, and progesterone blood levels of dairy cows. A total of 297 Holstein dairy cows were enrolled in the study.

We purposively selected as citizen scientists, eleven participants (21-45 years) from a cohort study who expressed interest in becoming physically active or were already active. They used the Stanford Neighborhood Discovery Tool mobile application to take photos and provide audio narratives of factors in their community that were barriers to or facilitated PA.

Further, polymorphisms in Col IX are known risk factors for the development of early intervertebral disc (IVD) degeneration. To understand the role of Col IX in the pathogenesis of IVD disorders, the spine of newborn and older Col IX deficient mice was systematically analyzed and compared to C57BL/6N controls.
