Introduction And Objectives: International guidelines for the diagnosis of Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis (HP) have improved the diagnostic standardization of this heterogeneous interstitial lung disease. Our goal was to determine how the final multidisciplinary discussion confidence level for suspected fibrotic HP (fHP) can be impacted by the application of different guidelines validated in this context.

Materials And Methods: Retrospective study including patients submitted to transbronchial lung cryobiopsy (TBLC) with a final multidisciplinary meeting diagnosis of fHP.

Introduction: Progressive pulmonary fibrosis (PPF) corresponds to any fibrotic interstitial lung disease (ILD) other than idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) that presents clinical, physiological and/or radiological evidence of disease progression similar to IPF. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) have been implicated in the pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis and are associated with disease progression and reduced survival in IPF and other fibrotic ILDs. This study aimed to investigate the role of serum levels of MMP-1 and MMP-7 in patients with fibrotic non-IPF ILD as possible biomarkers of patients at risk of developing PPF.

One of the main bottlenecks for recombinant peptide production is choosing the proper cleavage method to remove fusion protein tags from target peptides. While these tags are crucial for inhibiting the activity of the target peptide during heterologous expression, incorporating a cleavage site is essential for their later removal, ensuring the pure sequencing of the peptide. This review evaluates different cleavage methods, including protease-mediated, self-cleavable protein, and chemical-mediated sites, regarding their advantages and limitations.

Humanity has long battled mosquitoes and the diseases they transmit-a struggle intensified by climate change and globalization, which have expanded mosquito ranges and the spread of associated diseases. Additionally, widespread insecticide resistance has reduced the efficacy of current control methods, necessitating new solutions. Nootkatone, a natural compound found in grapefruit, shows promise as both a mosquito repellent and an insecticide.
